i’m gonna post this entry in chinese as i’m still setting up my chinese blog but i’ve promised a buddy to put this into a blog post, so here you go. FYI, it’s quite an emo one.
today while i was doing my daily readings. i came came across a very serious crime. someone posted a flaming and tamil bashing comments in the name of zorro, a senior blogger, whose blog i read daily. though i yet to have a chance to meet him, i’m almost 100% sure that it wasn’t written by him at all. from the sentence structure, the choice of vocabulary as well as the tone. it gave me a totally different feel from the usual zorro’s blog posts.
anyway, as at the time my post is published, the post had been taken down on mahaguru’s site,

and for your information, i have lived in Singapore for 7 years. something you mentioned about Singapore is DEFINITELY WRONG, for example: do you know that Singapore does not allow Malays to become soldiers????.
the truth is, Singapore ALLOWS Malay to become soldiers, IN FACT, all Singapore citizens of age 18 years have to serve National Service in the Singapore Armed Forces, IRREGARDLESS OF HIS RACE. and citizens from all races are allowed to be enrolled into Singapore Armed Forces. Please do some reasearch before you make your point. i would like to quote what you’ve said: GIVE ME FACTS, ok? FACTS !!

thank god that my buddy’s friend Ms. Dora Goh is safe and sound now.
shortly after the crime took place yesterday, the news about the kidnapping case have already reached thousands of people within hours through the alternative media, sending out alerts and SOS messages.
however, after browsing through tonnes of related blogs and sms messages, i realized that there are a few flaws, such as:
some of the blogs state that Dora is 24 years old this year while some says that she is 25 years old.
description of her physical appearance such as height, feature, the outfit she’s wearing when the crime took place
description of the kidnappers’ vehicle, some said it was silver, some said it was gold
there are also multiple versions of contact numbers as well as contact person.
ironically, some even claimed that it was just a hoax.
i guess we’re really in need of a unified messaging and alert system of our own so that we don’t need to read multiple versions of information, read about this blogger’s concept HERE
however, based on my experience on building and managing a community, in order to make this an effective system. there are a few things we need to put into serious considerations:
Ensure the Accruracy, Consistency and Authenticity of the information which will be posted on the Alert System as well as being dispersed to the general public
a proper managing team to constantly update, manage and insert the related and necessary information
key contact person for all cases as well as all the necessary follow ups with mainstream media, related authority as well as the victim’s next of kin.
ensure that it will not become a controlled media.

all in all, i am 100% supportive in this National Crime Alert Centre concept as i personally think that we really need some sort of information dispatch centre to reach the general public in the fastest way with the MOST accurate information utilizing the existing communication infrastructure, which in this case, are our SMS system, blogs, online media and portals.

ish… bro, i personally can’t relate BERSIH Rally to Racial Disharmony at all. in fact, the most precious thing that we’ve seen on that day, was the Unity of people from different races, professions and social backgrounds. i really can’t agree at all that BERSIH rally is inciting any racial disharmony because it wasn’t talking about any RACIAL issue at all. and please, simply because we totally understand the true meaning of “unity, mutual understanding and respect among the different races was achieved through the struggles of the country’s forefathers and should be defended by all.” that is the why we called for a street demonstration, marched to the palace to submit a memorandum.

i can’t agree no more that Street Demonstrations WERE never part of the Malaysians’ culture, however i’m afraid that is not the case anymore, because we don’t have a platform to voice our opinions, even if we do, there’re no ears who are willing to listen to what we have to say, and even if there’s any ear, they listen but they don’t understand nor take any action. the government does not listen, the government wants to do things their way irregardless of what the rakyat thinks, hence we have to go on the street and appeal to our King.

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 23 (Bernama) — Toll road operator Plus Expressways Bhd is still waiting for the government decision on the proposed toll increase next year and the quantum involved, managing director Noorizah Abdul Hamid said today.
“I don’t know when the Cabinet is going to discuss this. We are just waiting for the government to revert to us,” she told reporters after the company’s extraordinary general meeting here.
She said Plus was entitled to a 10 per cent toll hike for the next three years from January 2008 after the last increase in January 2005, based on the agreement with the government.
